Flood Crisis
di Muhammad Amdad Hossain
Synopsis / Author’s Text
Flood Crisis documents the devastating impact of recurring floods on vulnerable communities in Bangladesh. Through scenes of families wading through submerged streets, residents transporting belongings through floodwaters, homes surrounded by water, and roads transformed into waterways, the series reveals how flooding disrupts everyday life. People struggle to reach safety, protect their possessions, and maintain a sense of normality amid uncertainty. From intimate moments of survival to aerial views of inundated settlements, these photographs capture both the scale of destruction and the human stories behind it. As a documentary photographer, I seek to show not only the vulnerability of those affected but also their resilience and determination to endure. This work invites viewers to reflect on the growing consequences of climate change and the urgent need for solidarity and environmental justice.
